A stunning view of the Statue of Liberty awaits visitors to Liberty State Park in northeast New Jersey's Gateway Region. To the southeast, lighthouse tours, white sand beaches, and a host of outdoor recreation lead to Atlantic City's casinos and world class entertainment. Fishing enthusiasts can engage charters and guides to catch the 'big one' in the southernmost region.

The Delaware River area to the west is flanked by miles of hiking and biking trails. Towpaths of historic canals, built to facilitate early trade and industry, now serve as multi-use trails and parks, offering historic sites along the way.

The famed crossing of the Delaware by George Washington and his troops is immortalized in the Washington Crossing State Park. Further inland is the location of the historic winter encampment during the darkest days of the 1776 American Revolution.

The northern part of the state hosts the Appalachian Trail, wilderness camping and backpacking, as well as family hiking and camping, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and variety watersports. Golf and equestrian activites are found throughout the state along with migratory bird observation and guided nature walks.
